RISE Holds Inaugural Workshop for Registrants and Federal Agencies at Spring Conference

Arlington, VA, April 22, 2015 – RISE (Responsible Industry for a Sound Environment) is holding its inaugural workshop for registrants and federal agencies today at the RISE-CropLife America Spring Regulatory Conference at the Marriott Crystal Gateway in Crystal City.  Bringing the Label to Life is a day-long event that provides an opportunity for regulators to experience interactive exhibits hosted by product registrants about how products are applied and how technology supports product use.

“Holding this workshop provides an opportunity for the Environmental Protection Agency’s staff from all levels, especially those from the Office of Pesticide Programs Registration Division to see how the product label becomes a packaged and applied product,” says Aaron Hobbs, RISE president. “We are excited to host this event and give our members a great format to share information about important pesticide products and their benefits.”

“This workshop is a project our Regulatory Affairs Committee worked on for a year,” says Stephanie Binns, policy coordinator. “We have ten companies and associations participating in today’s event and we thank everyone involved for their participation.”

The ten member companies and associations participating are Bayer CropScience, Clarke, Crop Production Services, Dow AgroSciences, IVM Partners, National Pest Management Association, Nufarm Americas Inc., Pyrethroid Working Group, SePRO, and Syngenta Crop Protection – Lawn and Garden. The workshop is part of the larger RISE-CropLife America Spring Conference. The theme, “Science Speaks” focuses on an array of topics with more than 50 expert speakers from regulatory agencies, academia, the scientific community and industry. Important issues discussed include the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, pollinator health, and pesticide preemption.
